The River Ouse runs past the villages and is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful of their natural charms.
The stretch of the river between St Ives and Huntingdon has a lock at Houghton, which is a trap for visitors as day trippers and serious weekend sailors get to grips with the the emptying and filling of the lock, often with amusing results. There is a second lock at Hemingford, but that is hard to get to so stick with ours :o) |

| As the seasons change, I will endeavour to change the pictures of the river, but in the meantime, these two images were taken a week apart to show the diversity of weather as Summer gives way to Autumn. |
