As Martin Luther King once said, "I have a dream". But mine is to one day live in a house like the glorious examples here. Some are grand, others more modest, but they all have character (and a big Council Tax bill).
Where I can see the signs, I have identified the houses and cottages herein; perhaps someone may be able to enlighten me if there are any I have missed. As usual, if you click on the small images, you can get a big version to print, colour-in or just adore and love for all time.
Fosse Cottage - I love this house. I don't know why, I just do. (Wyton - but only just!) |
The Laurels - Love grass, hate mowing! (Houghton) |
Milton House - no, Milton, the poet, did NOT live there (I'm embarrased to say that I did actually ask) (Wyton) |
Walden House, just off the village square - this one has a Santa! (Houghton) |
Bourne House - In Wyton, the hub of the Universe (Wyton) |
The Manor - it gives me the willies when I cycle past (Houghton) |
Thicket Lodge. I knew a previous owner - does that make me famous? (Houghton) |
Orchard Cottage - there might be a real orchard tucked round the back :o) (Houghton) . |
I love this one too. Pinesmead Cottage - great location and a lovely design (as if I know the difference :o) (Houghton) |
Walnut Lodge - No comment; I'm drooling! (Houghton) |
Magdalene House - beautifully maintained and now a B&B (Wyton) |
Buckley House - not dissimilar to Magdalene House (well, it's the same colour) (Houghton) |
Stuart Cottage. It's right next to Stuart House - duh!. (Wyton) |
Stuart House (any relation to Gregory House?) (Wyton) . |
Glebe Cottage - everyone's idea of the perfect picture postcard cottage (Houghton) |
The cottages down Mill Street - for diminutive people only (Houghton) |
You'd be mad not to be impressed with Whympers - it's big, in a wonderful location, and right next to the 3 Horseshoes (Houghton) . |
White Gables has those lovely beams that make peoples' faces beam (Houghton) . |
The Old Coach House - sadly, Whippet don't stop there any more (Houghton) . |
The Old School House is beautifully kept and everyone gets to see it as they go to the Mill (Houghton). |
