If you have Flash (SURELY you've got it by now!), you will be downloading a panorama taken from the centre of the river bridge - this one though was taken at the end of October/beginning of November 2000, when we had an inordinate amount of rain (as did the rest of the UK).
By some miracle or scheme by the Environment Agency, our flood defences did us proud and the villages escaped a deluge.
As usual, at times like this, the meadow to Hemingford was soaked, but hey - that's why it's there.
The panorama shows the river, the footpath to the Hemingfords, the lock and the backside of the Mill.
If you compare it to the usual view around the lock, you can make out what you would see on a nice day.
As is customary, questions we should ask ourselves are:
Did I get my feet wet as I leaped over the torrent? (Yes - the things I do for art!)
Why are there no boaters? - there are at all other times of the year.
Was I late for work, taking these photos at 8.00am one cold November morning?
Was it worth waiting for the download? - of course it was!
